Touhou Lunar Nights
Combat
For the combat you have it where the MP system is used. The combat is set up where you're encouraged to switch between time and MP for the usage.
You throw knives; so far the enemies are simple with simple behaviors and actions.
Combat is very straight forward and simple.
One simple I didn't notice the graze system; the fact the game gives back HP if you're close to an enemy attack giving a risky way of playing.
Gems
The gems you pick up can be sold for money, gained from killing enemies; randomly given with the best gems being random if they ever drop.
meta/ strat
The metal/ strat is harvesting gems; the more gems you harvest the more powerful you get. Along with getting level ups. Each level you slightly power up more and more. The strat is to grind and buy power ups along with leveling up.
Along with using time stop as a defensive and offensive tool. You can stop the time stop and use the moment you pop in front of an enemy while they're attacking as a way of getting back HP with the graze system.
The idea is to have benefits snowball.
They weren't lying about optimizing the fun out of the game.
Movement
The movement is simple, nothing complex; just simple in the beginning.
Time stop
The time stop as mentioned before is adding defensive, offensive and even benefits to mobility oddly enough with the fact the time stop allows for running on the water.
Playstyle time
Has many zoner traits but the same time has many rushdown traits so a rushdown zoner.
Level up system
The level up system is supposed to give you small bread crumbs at a time to push you towards leveling up as you play the game but it's not really how it works out at the end of the day.
What I like
The time freeze and graze system opens itself up to interesting ways of playing the game with what you're given.
What I don't like
The combat and progression system.
