Stamina Systems in Games

 Why more games need Stamina systems; from what I found that the stamina systems have interesting pros and cons.

Pros

Limit the number of actions and force action spam to be limited to energy to action output.

Adding gameplay

Cons

Balancing around energy regeneration.

Passive play; passively playing games versus actively playing.

Breaks the flow of play without an energy leeching system.

Adds timing and predictability unless you add RNG values to enemies energy systems for the regen or stamina systems. This can be broken up with other gameplay elements taking place to change this aspect as well.

Examples of games working

Dark Souls

Elden Ring - different attacks and weapons for using stamina along with armor weight affecting rolling but not stamina which forces you to roll more.

Examples of not working

Momodora - why? Simple, broke the flow and no way of really regeneration outside of normal regen.
